SUMMARY:Christmas Wreath Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This free activity session is part of West Norwood’s “Glowing Cemetery”. \nThe workshop involves creating a mini Christmas wreath on a 6″ base with fresh evergreen foliage\, bedecked with ribbon bows and seasonal trimmings. All materials for making the wreath will be provided but bring your own scissors\, secateurs and wire cutters if you have them. And don’t forget gloves! \nYou can hang your finished wreath from your door\, in a window or use as a table decoration. Bring along a friend or two and have a great time learning how to make your own unique Christmas wreath. \nThe workshop leader is Helena Kowalska\, a highly experienced and friendly professional gardener who is a member of the Lambeth Horticultural Society.\nWe’re running 4 workshops throughout the afternoon 45 minutes each\, maximum of 6 participants. \nWorkshops are free but places are limited. Spend an afternoon at the Hut with Gardener’s Guild member Helena Kowalska\, learning how to create a hanging basket to cheer up the winter months. \nTake home a 14” basket planted with a mix of flowering and trailing plants for an attractive display lasting until springtime.You’ll learn how to keep the display going for months and get loads of inspiration on keeping it looking fresh. The basket\, lining\, soil and up to seven plants are all included in the price. You also get refreshments\, including splendid cake. \nThe price is £29.50 for members (£32.67 with online booking fee) and £39.50 for non members (£43.51with online booking fee) – this includes your £10 annual subscription fee to Lambeth Horticultural Society. \nMembers can book in person at the Hut or you can book online. DESCRIPTION:On 25 June\, LHS member David Whyte is opening his garden as part of the National Garden Scheme. The garden focuses on structure and careful planting. The sloping garden is 30m long\, and 18m wide at the rear. Perennials and shrubs and a hot colour border mix it with a kitchen garden of raised beds and soft fruits. Admission £4\, children free. \n
