Cheviot Gardening Club’s Clever Spring Pots
Categories Community, Local Events, UpdatesThe Gardening Club at West Norwood’s Cheviot Extra Care Homes this afternoon planted five large pots for spring. The displays included fragrant rose bushes, rosemary, narcissi, iris reticulata and pansies.
Later on, the bulbs and shrubs will be moved and replanted in the grounds where they can flourish for years to come.
We’ve been helping Theresa and the lovely, enthusiastic volunteers at Cheviot to set up a Gardening Club since November last year. Guess what? It’s flourishing!
Theresa O’Neill, Activities Coordinator, said:
“Residents had great fun deciding what they wanted from a brand new gardening club. We decided to create large tubs of spring flowers to make a great initial impact and to encourage others to join in.
We are delighted with our beautiful pots and really grateful to Lambeth Horticultural Society for the time and effort they’ve put into getting this project up and running.“
